Our aim at the Fraunhofer IPT is to develop new and optimise existing solutions through practice-oriented research and development for our clients in the modern production industries. We transfer the results of this R&D directly into practice in client companies, which come from a wide range of industries – the automotive industries and its suppliers, particularly the tool and mould manufacturers, air and space industries as well as precision mechanics and optical industries and machine tool manufacturers. We can also assist international clients further from home via the Fraunhofer Center for Manufacturing Innovation CMI in Boston, USA.
The Fraunhofer IPT employs a staff of approximately 300, currently working on projects in our 6000 m² facilities, 3500 m² of which are used as laboratories and machining workshops.
